Kim 'n Jim is an Irish pub music duo. Jim McLean (from Dublin originally, Saskatoon currently) is on guitar, vocals, wisecracks. Kim de Laforest is on fiddle, vocals, swipes at Jim. This lively pair is perfect for anywhere you might enjoy dancing and singing along to your favourite celtic tunes.

Fiddles North/Violons Nord
Fiddles North/Violons Nord is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing music lessons to youth in Canada’s North. Our core instructors - Greg Simm and Kim de Laforest - are accomplished musicians who have over 15 years' experience teaching music in the Canadian Arctic.

MAC TALLA
Mac Talla is a string quartet with a difference. With this group, you will get much more than just the classical string quartet hits. You will also be treated to folk tunes, vocals, familiar pop hits, and even some original compositions/arrangements. This Saskatoon based quartet is made up of Kim de Laforest and Anna Bekolay on violins, Jeremy Cook on viola, and Sean Whalen on cello.

NORTHWOODS
Northwoods Music is Kim de Laforest from Saskatoon (fiddle and vocals) and Greg Simm from Halifax (guitar and vocals). During a show with these two talented musicians, you can expect to hear a wide range of styles mixed with humorous banter that is sure to draw everyone in. An entertaining combination of old country, traditional folk, fiddle tunes from across the country and even a bit of Kim’s classical background appearing occasionally.

Do you miss square dancing and old time dances?
Have you always wanted to learn to (or get better at) playing for dances?
Does the idea of spending a fun (and laughter!) filled afternoon with friends and family members of all ages appeal to you?
If so…this is the group for you!!
JJ Guy, Kim de Laforest and Booker Blakley (and friends!) are planning to host monthly dances (generally on weekend afternoons) open to everyone!
Intermediate/advanced musicians that would like to join the dance band for some/all of the tunes are very welcome to do so!
